Improving Proposal Readability by Improving Proposal Skimmability

Proposal Training Class

If You Want Buyers to Understand Your Message, Make Your Proposals Easy to Skim

Reviewers are busy. Not only do they have to read your 75 page proposal, they have to read ten other 75 page proposals from as many vendors. And don’t forget they have a day job, too. Against these time constraints, do you think they will actually take time to read every page of every proposal? Of course not!

Reviewers don’t read proposals, they skim proposals. If you want your proposals to be understood by reviewers, make them easy to skim. Give them a way to breeze through your proposals quickly and still understand your relevant message, even if they don’t read every word. This class shows you how.

What students will learn

Students learn their goal is not for reviewers to read their proposals, it’s to ensure reviewers understand the message if they only spend a few minutes skimming it quickly–which is sometimes all the time some reviewers invest. To support this goal, students learn seven techniques to ensure their proposals are easy to skim quickly while still communicating their message effectively.
